seatbelts

i was warned and still screwed them up. is there anyway to fix my rears...they retracted all the way back.

Do you have them out of the car?

This won't help much, but....

Years ago I had two Ser III *front* seat belt retractors on my work bench because they wouldn't release nor retract properly. Cleaning and lubrication fixed 'em. At one point in my messing about I managed to get both of them fully retracted and thought I was sunk.

But, anyhow, my point is that the mechanisms were very simple to release. I can't remember it well enough to give specific but it you have one in your hands for examination I think you'll be able to figure out how it releases. Basically we're talking about a ratchet mechanism with a pendulum.

I have to think that the rears are the same.

Hopefully someone will come along who actually knows what they're talking about.

Cheers
DD

rear belts

I was just messing with my seatbelts. A flathead screwdriver down the outside center of the belt on the side it rolls into will release the belt stop and allow the belt to come out. That might be hard to visualize... think:

H O U S I N G
-----------
.... --------------[screwdriver]
...........====buckle
... seat ...
... belt ...
...roll...
-----------
