SICK OF SU FUEL PUMPS - any upgrades available

Hi all

The SU fuel pumps on my XJ6 S2 have been playing up for a while. They have points in them so I have to keep cleaning them as I dont use the car much

Is there a modern electronic pump (i.e one without any points) that I can replace them with. I really dont want to buy another SU points pump but will have to if no upgrades available.

Presumable the upgraded pump will need to have the same fuel pressure as the original SU ones

Looking forward to some advice and hopefully getting a reliable fuel pump!!

Many thanks

Rich

check the german HARDI fuel pumps to see if they make S2 equivalents. They are made for prior Jaguar cars like the 1963-1968 S type, 420, MK-X, 420-G.

SU Midel, pommy company I believe, also known as Fabre "something" (google will find them), have ALL things SU, and pumps is one, obviously, and pointless is also a winner. Direct fit for whatever you need them for.

The Sydney ( Downunder) people as switched on, and very helpful.

Thanks Grant. Just to clarify - Do SU Midel do pumps without the points?

cheers

Yep, got one last year for a 1948 Rover P3, +ve earth, and they had it in stock ready to go, $240.

Mate got a pair for his 3.8ltr S Type (the real one), and same $$ each, and no points. Happy camper now.

I have installed these on a couple of SU carbed cars with good results.

Being NZ made , I am sure it probably expoerted to many markets, they are usually pretty switched on that way.
