Side moulding attachment
 

Hey all,

So I've found some nice side moulding for my series 3, it was attached with rivets to the wreck.

Now does anyone have any great ideas on how to attach it? I don't really want to drill and rivet my panels.

I like the foam tape idea but I'm not sure it will be strong enough to hold the trim on around the gentle curves of the side front and rear of the car.

The double sided foam tape for attaching badges should work fine, I have done it before to attach rubber panels to my old Jeep doors that came unstuck.
It was on there 10 years before I sold it. (the ribbed panels at the bottom of the doors are painted rubber)

I agree with Clarke re. the double sided tape and I would reinforce that it is the type specifically intended for attaching automotive badges that you need. I've used it and it is a whole lot stronger than the all-purpose type of stuff sold in hardware stores.

+3 I have used the automotive one to re stick all exterior badges back on the R.Rover.

Well that's it then, Ill get some of that and give that a try.

If you are talking about the chrome trims, before you fit them using tape make sure it fits properly with no springiness when you press it front, middle and back.

If it's the rubber/ plastic trims then ignore the above!!
