Starting problem, Jaguar XJ6 1979
Hello Everyone
I have a 1979 Jaguar XJ6 Series 3
My problem is this.
As I move the engine in a cold state, it drives easily.
After driving, the engine is warm, I turn off it for 30 minutes or so, he did not start.
I have to wait about an hour until it start again.
Starter spins strong.
I checked the ignition system, everything right.
I thought there was a leak in the injectors, changed them, did not help. I replaced the temperature sensor.
Another thing, when the engine is hot, it does not work round and fakes.
I'd love to learn from the experience of others
Welcome

Are you sure? How did you check for this?
Here's why I ask:
The ignition module and the coil are both known to give starting and/or running problems *when hot* and then return to normal operation after cooling down. Both are easy to replace.
(In mentioning the ignition module I'm assuming your Ser III has the typical Lucas CEI system -- Constant Energy Ignition. But, since your's is an early Ser III you *might* have the older Lucas OPUS system....a different kettle of fish entirely. The Lucas CEI is easily identified: if there's a black box bolted to the front of the inlet manifold you have the CEI system).
There are other possibilities, of course, but your description sounds typical of a module or coil problem.
Cheers
