Steering Wheels

I'm new to the Jaguar game with an '84 XJ6. I've been a fan of the body-style for years and finally decided to get one. So far, I love it. My question is; will the steering wheel off of an '89 XJ6 fit on an '84? The interior is very nice overall, but the steering wheel is pretty beat up. I saw an '89 wheel for sale and liked the thicker grip better. Thanks for any help.

Only reason it wouldnt fit would be splines or not. Don't quote me but I think the column diameter may be the same.

If it is cheap to buy, nothing really lost. If it doesn't fit, you could resell agian.

An '89 XJ6 wheel will not fit. Momo use to make an aftermarket wooden wheel that looked really nice. Be sure you buy the hub adaptor to mount.

Back in 1994, I installed a 15" MOMO black leather Olympic in my 1984, lots of grip compared to the skinny original wheel. They supplied the hub kit and horn-button with the Jaguar leaper emblem. After that, Ford prohibited every aftermarket company from using any Jaguar emblem, unless they paid Ford a ramson, so mostcompanies stopped making accessories for Jaguar.

Here's a picture of my steering wheel...
