RE: Trans Fl.

you drive the car about 25 minutes to heat the transmission to normal by going through its shifting cycles normally, then stop the car in a level driveway, (leave engine running), open the hood, pull the Transmission Dipstick, the one nearest the Firewall, (it shouldhave aRED fluid at the end of the "long spring" dipstick), then you read the markings at the end of the dipstick blade. You will know if it's too low. Best to read it twice by cleaning the blade, reinserting the dipstick and pulling it out again.

Fluid:I use Valvoline DEXRON III/MERCON. Mine is also a 1984.

To add some fluid, use a small funnel inserted into the dipstick Tube.

Be careful about overfilling, better to be a bit on the low side than over. The BW66 transmission in these cars does not like to be 100% full. More like 95%.

Hey Jose, my dipstick has markings on both sides of the dip stick and they are at different locations, which one do I read? When the car is hot it does not register AT ALL on the dip stick....

Also I added a quart and a half of type f. (I used plastic tubing and a big syringe to suck out a quart and a half...)

One side of the stick should read "cold" and the other "hot". Yours doesn't?

Cheers
