I've heard about ceramic manifolds but I thought they were merely an expensive cosmetic trick. If these guys are correct, having that done to my car will go a Long way toward cooling the engine bay.

Further research will Definitely follow!
Thank you, Darren.

as usual, i Ceramic coated my exhaust manifolds, inside and outside, 20yrs ago.
and YES it does lower under hood temperatures around 50%, and saves a lot of plastic wire and stuff from cracking or falling apart.

plus do away with unsightly heat shields.

Thank you, Ron,
20 years ago I was barely conscious; hadn't got my eyes open yet.
I will certainly look into giving my car this treatment; If I don't have to 'sell the farm' to do it.

I changed out my stock distributor to a Mallory Unilite electronic distributor and high output coil. Really makes a difference in performance and maintenance.
A better choice, in ditching the stock cast iron exhaust manifold, is to install a ceramic coated tubular steel exhaust manifold. A lot less weight and better cooling.

gio, have you priced a set of tubular exhausts for a V12 jag, ceramic coated, you could buy an early 80s whole car for as much!

on that wheeler dealer, they got over $20,000 dollares for that car, i sold one XJ12C V12 coupe, manual trans for $6500. DARN,somtimes i wonder!!!!

The best solution for the exhaust headers, is to have a custom set fabricated from mild steel and then send them to the ceramic coating company.
Stainless steel headers ARE very expensive and have a very tinny sound.

gio, a set of custom headers for a Jag V12 will be very expensive, plus coating.

and most of the cars i had headers on,had a tinny sound anyway.

also Jag XJ12C coupes have always been rare,(only 800 ever made) now XJS coupes are common and cheap!

pix of my 1975 XJ12C, V12 engine, manual transmission, genuine Jag wire wheels with 2 ear knock off spline drive hubs,(no lug nuts). very, very rare on Jag XJ series1

Unfortunately, most V-12 coupes have been converted to Chevy engines.
The owners like them because they can use the dual catalytic exhaust with split mufflers and pass smog. The cars are not worth much, after the Chevy conversion. It is a shame to convert any rare coupe. Better to change out the stock fuel injection system to the TWM fuel injection throttle bodies.
Much better than stock system, with less complexity. Really cleans up the engine bay, too. The performance is better, too.
There is also a throttle body fuel injection system to replace the twin Zenith Stromberg and SU carburetors.
The Jaguar V-12 engines were the best production V-12's ever built, bar none!
They are very underrated and the engine can be customized for up to 800hp.
Too bad you didn't hold on to the cat's tail, longer!
What a beauty!

Fully believing what you have said; What kind of a project is it to convert a 6 to a V12? I have a nice xj6c.

If smog check is not a problem, it is very straight forward.
Just buy a wrecked V-12 XJS and move the entire engine, trans and subframe to your car. Use the XJS fuel pumps in your tanks. XJ6 tanks are easily disassembled, for this conversion. Use a 6-speed manual stick conversion.
V12 Jaguar Bell Housing
The stock brake pedal housing can be machined or you can source out a good manual pedal housing. The clutch and brake pedals are readily available.
I converted mine, with no problem.
