I haven't posted much on here but i appreciate everyone's knowledge and helping me learn about these cars through reading all these posts.

Unfortunately I will be moving on from my Series 1 XJ12. I have saved the car from not seeing the road again, but I know I wont be able to finance the rest of the work to be done which is paint and wrapping up the interior. All the mechanicals are sorted out at this point and all the work has been done by our best vintage British car shop in town.

I have enjoyed the past couple years driving her, but although it was my grandfathers dream car I cant see that dream through being young and having a growing family.

I'll post an add on the classifieds for any that are interested.

Shame the XJ12 has to go but life has a habit of getting in the way of careful plans!

Whatever you motoring future may hold, I doubt anything will approach the time and experience with a V12 Jaguar. A memory to treasure for you and being mechanically sorted, a great starting point for the next lucky owner.

Thanks everyone for the kind words! Yea having a newborn changes things.

I plan to get back in the game at some point and buy either a late xk8 or one of the 5.0xk's. Having a car that is already cosmetically done is just more feasible at this point for me.

Tough decision Pat, I did it with a well sorted TR7 to finance the deposit on our first home. And again with a nice GT Falcon coupe when family came along.
At the end of that circle now I can stockpile toys.
Good luck, hope to see back in the future with that later model Jag.

V12's, especially a Series 1 requires a high level of dedication. 2 fuel pumps 2 tanks, valves and 4 heat baked carbs can be a bit much for anyone especially in a car that hoovers petrol at a furious pace. Funny how life is sometimes, new borns is how I ended up in the garage more. After 4 kids almost back to back and all that is involved my wife had less time for 'us' and just needed to sleep, so off to the garage I went.

I took the car off the classifieds after shortly listing it, but I have added it back at 6000 obo. Would enjoy selling it to someone who really loves these cars.

Many decades ago, I, now we decided the 53 MG TD would not do what was needed. Sold, actually a trade.

Enter, a Belgian assembled 50 Chevrolet four door. Served as a family car better than the roadster. and, in cold Germany, heater!! And tunes.

When my tour was up, it was shipped stateside. I drove it alone, from NY to El Paso.
Sent wifey and daughter ahead aboard an American airlines plane. They in a few hours and with air. It was July and hot!!!! Oh was it hot...

Looks like a solid example. So many Series I cars are too far gone. I hope someone grabs it up. I'd be sorely tempted if I could afford to paint it !
