Wiper Switch Replacement

Thinking of replacing the wiper switch on my Series III XJ6 hoping that it will correct the wiper park problems.

Is replacement just a matter or removing the steering wheel lower cover, undoing the switch screws and connectors and then reversing the steps?

Both covers will have to come of as I recall. Other than than that, yes, unplug, remove the switch screws, that's it.

Cheers

Except, of course, it may not be the switch ! Have you looked at the motor, as that is where the park mechanism resides ?

Replaced the switch tonight and now the wipers are parking nice and low on the windshield in both steady and intermittent mode.

Problem solved except I notice the wipers overlap the chrome trim on the windshield. I wonder if the wipers are too wide. Are the correct wipers for LHD cars both 16" or 15"?

That's one of those weird Jag things. I think Jag built them with two different lengths. Memory a bit foggy. I seem to recall replacing the 16 with a 15 to eliminate the overlap.

Cheers
