xj6 1987 cold start

Does anyone know where i could find a new thermo time swich? My xj6 does not start easily when cold, i can jump wire to cold start (plug and unplug rapidly about 3-4 times) and she fires right up. (PO chtimesanged wiring so pump runs all time with key on). Once running she is smooth and will start right up when warm/hot.
Thanks,
Daniel

Have you tried any of the usual Jag suppliers? Coventry West, Motorcars Limited, Welsh Jaguar, SNG Barratt, Paul's Jaguar, etc?

Yes, EAC1385 is the part number but its no longer available. I would rather find a new one then used. Also believe fits land rover of same era

Dan,
One thing about this has me curious... How cold is it in LA these days?
Reason being, the thermotime switch only calls for any operation when the coolant temperature is below 35 degrees (C), 95 degrees (F)...
Even with the temps in the mid 50s at night, it would only be a very brief spray added to the intake...
Perhaps the reason why the PO modified the fuel pump to constantly run was because of a loss of fuel pressure (leaking down)...
May be reaching a bit, but worth considering...

Doug's checklist for testing the thermotime switch here:

I went for an unknown period of time with a broken wire at the thermotime switch, rendering it it inoperative. I discovered the broken wire wire during the course of a routine servicing. It was early summer weather in the PNW....maybe 50ºF overnight temps. The point being, of course, that it mild weather the lack of the cold start squirt might not make much difference, as David alludes to
