Does anyone know where I can find the foam/fabric material to re-cover my headliner and sunroof. I need to find new tan material about 4' x 5'.Thank You

Skinner Co. have the original Furflex (draft-excluder) in original colors like red and cream, usually unavailable in the US. They also have the headliner material in European colors, some of which we never get to see over here.

I would use any local trim shop if you are replacing the material and not the board. We have a guy that drops the board in the car and refinishes right there. Doesn't even pull the board out of the vehicle. (To remove the board you must remove either the front or rear windshield.) The material is nothing that hung the moon, so go with any reputible local interior or headline specific shop.

I guess you can do that if you can live with non-original headliner material, otherwise the original foamed-fabriccosts around $100.00 delivered, and they send enough to do the entire fiberglass form and sunroof panelwith plenty left-over to use in other places like the door panel pockets, and trim pieces that are upholstered in headliner material too. I still have a lotof material leftover.

I do disagree about having to remove the windshields Ken; the fiberglass form will indeed come out through the front, passenger-side door by reclining the front seats. The fiberglass form is flexible enough to slightly "bend" and come out through the door. Remember how the Egyptian embalmers removed the brain of the Pharaof through the nose? Same principle.

In my car, I first removed all the seats and threw a blanket on the floor for comfort during the job and protection of the carpet. ThenIremoved all the headliner surround parts and hardware, and it came out easy. chances are you will break the rearview-mirror bracket, so order one in advance. I used two cans of 3M Headliner Adhesive sold at any local auto parts. You will need help laying the headliner over the fiberglass form, 4 hands at least, it's almost like laying a vinyl top.You gently press the fabric with a light roller. I mean VERY GENTLY, otherwise it "sinks" and stays sunk. Then you cut an "X" over the sunroof opening and trim the excess material, I also covered the rubber Welting around the sunroof opening with headliner material, looks VDP-ish.

Because the Adhesive must be sprayed horizontally, then vertically, then diagonally, per the instructions on the can, {and the same must be done with the foam-side of the fabric}, I am skeptical of doing all that spraying inside the car, unless you do a giant Masking Job to protect everything that remains. Too much work man, easier to just remove the form and spray it while it's laying flat on the grass, like I did mine, it's one hell of a messy adhesive-spraying job, I do not recommend doing it inside the car! No way.

I hope this helps. It's a one-chance job, no second chances. If you screw up the job will show it. Don't rush, do it methodically. And before you pull the fabric over the sunroof panel, make sure you study how it was put in place in the first place. Make a sketch, write down notes. It's easy to forget.
