Anyone know the inside dia. of the rear spring on a 1976 XJS with the inboard brakes? The ones I have that I was told were for this car measure 2.5" inside, and are 9.25" long. I am trying to find some shocks for the rear end, and the ones I got, the spring seat did not fit inside my springs. If this is not the right spring for this car , does anyone know what shock will work with the springs I have?

Any XJS shock absorber for an inboard-braked car (pre-about 1992) will fit the Internal diameter of the OEM springs, which is 3 inches.
