Help needed with "Lost" Tapes
JCNA and the Coventry Foundation have a partial set of the 1980s Jaguar Cars Inc. Training Modules.
These modules were created for Jaguar Dealership maintenance staff and used a now antiquated Dukane Audio Visual system. The content is very well prepared and instructive.
We have now re-mastered 3 of the modules to digital format.
We need members' input as to the value of these modules and whether we should invest in re-mastering more of the modules.
The three modules are currently unlisted on Youtube but available with the following links
AJ17 - Jaguar Power Steering available at =AT3J3-t_RnDjL8QoyaKIibGIkQwzT7XSRMUxPSejdznHfrf4qhJXWKsU NZmayeGnEikj8_yojv4nhOtIKGK08lbrCBKEg8t4TZJjq-LH_Xa0y66Wnd1yVLGcVHqnFYu7b7ftQP7deVf3L7ATG7NY00xn 8xKZ61lf0JOsITaNHt2VHvPMixqt9ZqI5q-qWLqojoxOPD2N2zI6eotPIr8]https://youtu.be/0SvVF6awu24
AJ18 - Suspension and drivetrain Part 1 available at =AT3J3-t_RnDjL8QoyaKIibGIkQwzT7XSRMUxPSejdznHfrf4qhJXWKsU NZmayeGnEikj8_yojv4nhOtIKGK08lbrCBKEg8t4TZJjq-LH_Xa0y66Wnd1yVLGcVHqnFYu7b7ftQP7deVf3L7ATG7NY00xn 8xKZ61lf0JOsITaNHt2VHvPMixqt9ZqI5q-qWLqojoxOPD2N2zI6eotPIr8]https://youtu.be/tWYCJ6aGD0M
AJ19 - Suspension and Drivetrain Part II available at =AT3J3-t_RnDjL8QoyaKIibGIkQwzT7XSRMUxPSejdznHfrf4qhJXWKsU NZmayeGnEikj8_yojv4nhOtIKGK08lbrCBKEg8t4TZJjq-LH_Xa0y66Wnd1yVLGcVHqnFYu7b7ftQP7deVf3L7ATG7NY00xn 8xKZ61lf0JOsITaNHt2VHvPMixqt9ZqI5q-qWLqojoxOPD2N2zI6eotPIr8]https://youtu.be/TP9HxUpvSIQ
Please review the materials and send your thoughts to Les Hamilton les@jags.org or George Camp scjag@juno.com.
Thank you for your help. There are modules dating back to the mid 70s but it is labor intensive to convert to a digital format. If useful to the Jaguar community we will attempt to increase this library. Kudos to JLR NA for making these available to the Coventry Foundation. We picked the two suspension tapes as they are a source of much debate on many forums. Please watch and enjoy and provide comments as to their usefulness----or not.

Can't wait to watch! Especially the P/S one since I just have been working on rack and pump last few months.

Note that the link posted has a space before the // and causes it to fail and not rselove to the video image like the two suspension ones

Thanks

yes I understand but the Part 1 of Suspension is definitely suspension Theory as it explains the different types of suspension engineering. I already learned a lot watching Part 1.

Bobmo these will not be for sale. They will be posted as general educational information full filling one of the missions of the Coventry Foundation. Of course Patrons of the Foundation through their gifts make this and other material possible. Please visit our web site www.coventryfoundation.org or join our private FB group at Coventry Foundation. That said the reaction of good folks here and other sites have made us conclude to press on for a few more examples. We have training tapes going back to the mid 1970s and some cover earlier models. Anyway coming soon will be:

AJ/11 Alignment Procedures
AJ/03 Jaguar Heritage #1 performance
AJ/04 Jaguar Heritage #2 performance
AJ/05 Jaguar Heritage #3 performance
AJ/12 Body Adjustments #1
AJ/13 Body Adjustments #2
AJ/14 Body Adjustments #3

So stay tuned if you find them informative.

Please continue converting the tapes, they look to contain all sorts of useful information. Really neat to see the video of cars when they were still new and being worked on at a dealership.

Not a criticism by any means, but did anyone else notice the grease or oil on the bottom of the IRS hub carrier in the first vid ?
Think someone got carried away lubing the car ? Guess I'm too OCD after redoing all my suspension !

Thanks for all the hard work saving Jaguar information etc before it gets lost forever !
Brian

Two additional modules added to the Youtube Channel tonight. The Jaguar Environment Part 1 and Part 2. Wind noise, mechanical noise and leaks on the XJ6 and XJS.

Provided by Coventry Foundation and JCNA.

I'm so happy to see this...
I ended up with quite a few of the tapes several years ago. I had intended on having them converted to disk, but this way is so much better!
Thanks Coventry Foundation and JCNA for making those!
David

Hello David,

Thank you

Do you have the film strips to accompany the audio tapes? Would consider helping us fill some of the gaps in the Coventry Foundation collection by lending Coventry Foundation the audio tapes? We would return them after we have converted and posted them.

Thanks

Les... Of course I'd be glad to send you what I have.... It'd be a privilege to do so.. I don't have the film strips as far as I can recall...
I do have a lot of the old Factory training info...
If you want to email me ~ david@everydayxj.com ~ I'll be glad to talk to you about the easiest way for me to get them to the Foundation.
Cheers
David
