1984 XJS!

just got a 1984 XJS for cheap with low mileage and great condition (needs paint) original everything with full set of books and cassette cleaner and jaguar driving experience tape. I plan to rip it to mp3 and rebox it and seal it up this weekend. been neck deep in the v12 getting dirty and learning a lot. still a few kinks which I love trying to figure out. done some minor repairs but fun is next week when all the new parts come rolling in. rebuilding the ac and converting to R134. need to figure out the plug that goes to ac, its jumpered and taped up and wired to compressor with a couple wires just hanging. and then off right bank, a blue vacuum switch with no line attached. and then there is a wheel binding up . haven't investigated which one and why yet. but I might be in for a inboard break rebuild. Im soooo happy right now. with my wife for letting me get it and the fun getting it to purr. Thanks Mark Grant for letting me steal this car from you. When I call and ask questions about car, Im not complaining, just picking your brain, and NO, you can not have it back.

Some photo's of the car would be nice

Cheers

Cool Story, I purchased a 1995 Honda PC 800 (Pacific Coast) motorcycle several years ago. I'd had it about 2 months and the Guy who sold it to me, called out of the blue, and said his back doctor, had cleared him to ride again! I replied Sorry Mike, you can't have it back!

Good Luck with the XJS, I was as enthusiastic as you are when I first got mine.

i could copy and paste the beginning of your post on one for me. Just got my 1984 XJS SE V-12 yesterday. Low miles and in great shape but hasn’t run in 12 years. I too believe I “stole” it.
Just starting to figure out what’s up with it. Told it was only left in the garage because they got a new car and just “forgot” about it.
Good luck with yours. I look forward to seeing what you do and learning from it.

Not running for that long is going to take some work. start with the gas tank flush and work up the line from there ,gas has a nasty habit of collecting garbage and water and getting chunky. Dont want that going through the lines and injectors/carb.. dump oil and change it and filter, then if you can , crank it without starting to pump the oil through the system. after that, just see how to get it running!
