1988 Hess & eisenhart 1/4 window inoperative

The 1.4 windows do not raise when the top is put up

Maybe a fuse or connector? Not sure where to point you to.
I just took one of these apart. '88 H&E convertible (I know, they all were)

Lots of parts if you're interested. For example H&E unique gas tank is in great shape

Thanks. I just acquired the car at a salvage price from a customer. We have a factory convertible in the shop and thought the windows work the same. They do not raise with the switches in the console, so it looks like we need to do some relay checking. Someone has already been in there. We had hopes of moving it on Bring A Trailer for about $5,000.00. 100045 K miles, needs a top , seat covers, and shock bushings, but runs pretty good.. Thanks for the nfo.

Sounds good. Let me know how you did it when you get the convertible top off. I'm stuck.

The H&E convertibles are rare (but it doesn't necessarily make them especially valuable).. They didn't make many and after 30+ years doubt there are many left. They are different than the factory convertible that came out in '89.

I would suggest one thing while you have the car getting ready to sell. Take the hood off and the radiator cover panel. Clean the area between the A/C condenser and the radiator. I'm certain a ton of crap will come out that is restricting airflow across the radiator. Overheating is the biggest engine killer of these cars. Heads get warped, valves drop and you're done.

Thanks for the response. We tend to have a disproportionate number of 12 Cyl. cars in our small shop. maybe because we are nuts enough to like them, along with Rolls Royce. Your recommendation of preventive over heating action, makes sense. Been working on Jags since my first. 1955 XK140 in 1958. a model made that has not come through our shop. Including SS 100, C type, D type and XKSS. In our DNA
