1994 6.0 V12 Brake issue
Hi Guys
I know this has been covered a lot on the forum but I think I might have afailed/failing brake accumulator.
I actually managed to get a recording of the noise I get coming from the carwhen I start it up. Hopefully it will be attached to the post!
Trouble is it's not all the time and not always when I start it up butsometimes mid journey. I have Also had the ABS light come on every time I'veused the brakes for a few journeys and then it behaves its self again.
Can someone confirm my suspicions or have any suggestions what else it mightbe?
Thanks
Rob

Mine does that as well sometimes . I'm not 100% sure but it sounds like a slipping belt. Alternator?
I believe the accumulator is unrelated. When I bought the car the accumulator was bad. It was indicated by the "Brake" light coming on when I used the brake. Looking through Kirby's book I was able to find a non Jag replacement for 1/4 the price of a Jag part. Easy to replace.

Just a quick update for those that might be interested. Typically the car is now behaving it's self. No horrible noises or warning lights.
As a precaution I've taken all the wheels off and inspected the callipers, discs, pads, sensors and all is well. I have also tested the resistance from sensors to ecu and they are all with in tolerance. Accumulator takes about 50 seconds to charge when car is cold so think that probably rules that out to.
All the belts on the car were replace last year and I have visually inspected them. pretty sure the're all good to. Also just topped up the brake fluid (although it wasn't below min level).
So a little inconclusive at the moment. But when I get some more time off I'll have another go. As for the noise in the video I'm more and more convinced it's a valve shutting as I've never heard a belt shut up like that.
