Not really needed. People can't even use the 'other cars' section properly and post that stuff here in the XJ-S section. So how are they supposed to cope with the I6 vs. V12 vs. V8-LUMP areas?

Other forums use a suffix/prefix in the title, so you have to select one. So it could be:

PreHE V12 (-1982)
HE 5.3l V12 (1982-1988)
Marelli 5.3l V12 (1988-1992)
Facelift 6.0l V12 (1993-1996)
3.6l I6 AJ6 (1984-1992)
4.0l I6 AJ6 (1992-1993)
4.0l I6 AJ16 (1993-1996)
Body General
Electrical General
Suspension General
OTHER (other engines, conversions, ...)

Like that the intention of the poster would be clear... The boards/forums which use those prefixes, also use the same software... It is also then mandatory to select a prefix...

A very easy cure (for a very minor disease) would simply adding "V12" in the subject line when starting an engine-related discussion

Without discipline from users nothing will work
