95 V12 pricing help
 

Hi guys, what do you feel is the market value for a 95 V12 convertible with 56k in excellent condition? One owner. Thx

Ahh, the what's worth dilemma.
Unfortunately like most super cars they don't hold value well. for example I was watching Barrett Jackson yesterday and saw a Ferrari that when new was over $240K sell for $70K. MB's, BMWs, etc...all the same. Just too hard or expensive (time and/or money) for most to devote to keeping them running.

Locally there is a '90 XJS convertible being sold at a dealership. Asking price I am told is $22K. (The owner has spent a lot of money on it according to the salesman)
Truth be told I'd be shocked if he got half that. It may be a very long wait on the part of the seller.
I know I'd be thrilled if XJS's commanded XKE like money but have long ago given up on those fantasy's.

Our cars are such a niche market it is impossible for me to venture a guess on market value. You might need to figure out a price you'd be willing to let it go for and then stand back and see what happens. Hope this helps. Good luck. Keep us posted.

If you want top dollar haul it via cargoship C-can to Austrailia, anywhere else you'll be lucky if you get 10k for it. Even the most impeccable flawless facelift XJS complete with original introductory cassett tape and all the stickers in place won't fetch 12k yet. Not sure if autotrader etc shows ask price vs accepted price?

A 95 though..thats a 6.0L so the best possible engine year. I kind of want it lol

But why sell? You could shopvac the fluids out and put it in dry storage. If I stored one I'd spray it down in thick wax then vacume seal it in a cocoon with construction poly.

I would guess in the $18K to 26K for the 6.0L V12. They are rare, the engine is bulletproof compared to earlier engines. The body attracts less rust and if properly maintained remains a solid daily driver.

Big money, anywhere but in the US it seems. Contact Clarkes of Sussex in the UK who import quite a few LHD XJS and then sell them for big money. Based on their current adverts, about +£35k for a 95 6.0 Convertible

Useless facts...

1995 XJS listings for the past week nationwide US ranged from $4000-$14000.

Curiously, 1996s ranged $2500-$7000 for the same period.

What makes the 6.0L better than the 5.3L?

Looks like my car is going overseas if I decide to sell. :-)

Brad ,, many engines design improvements,, inlet manifolds, cam timing , Denso ECU, but most important complete redesign of the FAMOUS rear crank seal,(oil leaks)! + others!
anyway the FORD improved 6.0L v12 is a great engine!

Maybe high mileage 6cyl versions. Look on ebay what 6.0L convertibles are listing for.

Recently bought one for $10,500 with 99k miles if that helps. Owner was asking 15k.

With that miles 10k seems fair. Do you have to have a v12? The inline 6 is just a better car all around.
