95 XJS vs 96 XJ6

Hi,
I was wondering what the (non obvious) differences are between the 95 XJS and 96 XJ6.
Thanks,
Jomo

Hi Jomo,

I am assuming you mean the difference between the '95 XJS and '96 XJS. The '96 is considered the celebration edition so the main differences are the '96 has a partial wood steering wheel, seats that have the jaguar embossed in the headrest area, two tone piping on the seats and came with factory aero wheels. I also believe the hood emblem is a nice looking green inlaid emblem over the brushed bronze looking one on the '95.

These are the main differences that come to mind. I have two '95s myself and went with the '95 because I like the 5 spoke factory wheels on the '95 over the '96 aero factory wheel. It is not uncommon though to see a '96 with the chrome factory 5 spoke as that was a factory option in '95 and '96. I have the factory 5 spoke on both my '95's as I feel they look the best but that is just a personal preference.

The '95 will be the last year you can get the 6.0L V12 and both '95 and '96 came with the 4.0L inline 6 which is the most common engine available for both years. I will post a few photos of my 95's to show the wheels I have on both and both interiors. On the blue '95 I bought the car with a all wood steering wheel that was added to the car after purchased new and the red one has the regular factor all black leather steering wheel.
