'96 XJS Red LED by cigarette lighter

Now that Jasmine ('96 XJS 4.0) is running well again, she doesn't want me to get bored so we're on to the next problem. I was driving her yesterday and then left her parked for about 4 hours. I noticed that the red LED light next to the cigarette lighter stayed on constantly while she was parked. No blinking, just a steady light. And it stayed on when I started her and drove her for over an hour. Then, finally, when I shut her down the light turned off. Stayed off as I drove and parked this morning too. So what, if anything, does this mean? I always figured it had to do with the alarm system, which I haven't used in years because both the key fobs physically broke. But I did notice when I plugged in and set up an OBD2 code reader (by FIXD) this red light flashed quite a bit.

You have the keyless/alarm system set in a certain mode (not sure which one) I would suggest you buy a key fob or two, program them (you can do up to 5 remotes) and then leave your alarm systems in valet mode. This way in won’t be inadvertently coming on malfunctioning. You will just have keyless entry with no alarm
