Another problem !!
Gents;
I am having another issue. This is not XJS friendly month. It’s not a failure but it is a problem. My convertibles are garaged. My daily X type sleeps outside. Someone broke into my X type and took my XJS keys that where inside the X. They also took my grandmothers’ Chrysler spare key. This is a 95 convertible. I suppose I should change the ignition, doors and trunk key. I am going to be paranoid about my car being stolen if I leave it outside for a brief moment. |
I can’t help with your dilemma beyond sayin that I had a XJS key cut at the dealer here in Denver for $109.00 last week.

Oh I have spare keys. I just don’t need someone stealing my XJS if I ever leave in outside for a moment.

Title made me wrongfully think the XJS had the problem.

And trip the impact shutoff switch. A separate interrupt switch for the coil power would be more convenient and less obvious.

Thanks for the replies.
I really won’t have peace anytime I go and leave the XJS out just running errands (she always sleeps in) ......Specially somewhere close to my place. The gym, the grocery store, the post office. I guess the first step is to reprogram my keyless entry unit so it only recognizes the remaining remotes, so if they try to just push and see what car beeps mine won’t respond. (The keys they stole had the remote too.) I would be worried that they would already know the XJS was inside from pushing the button, but fortunately the battery has been unplugged for trunk cleaning and beautifying. I hate thieves. This trash come every so often at night and break into some of the cars parked outside. My X type has been broken into multiple times. I need to get myself a gun just in case I catch them. |
