Anyone convert a 2+2 back to a 2-only?

Wondering if it's doable, practical, affordable, advisable. It's just silly, "The four passenger, with seating for two." I'd get more use having the stow shelf, bin, rail...might end up with spare leather seat skins for the front, also! Just thinking out loud, but I'd consider doing it.

You can do that if you are fair at carpentry. I have a XJ-SC that is a 2 seat model that came with a factory installed luggage shelf instead of a back seat. It is made of plywood and covered with a heavy gray indoor/outdoor carpet. There are 2 locking hatches in the shelf and a stainless steel bar along the front edge to keep items in place. You can Google XJ-SC (XJSC) to get pictures.--Michael PS--I would suggest that you first make a cardboard template as a pattern before cutting the wood.

Wow! This is the same idea that I've toyed with forever. There's nothing more wasted than those two-good-for-nothing rear seats. Yes, a trunk like the pre '94 models is ideal, and nothing but carpentry. I suppose if I could get me a good set of pics from all angles from somebody who owns a '92 or '93 model would be a more fitting example to my '94. I do know that there's a different insurance classification, but I wouldn't think that we're as strict as the UK insurance.
It'll be a nice project, considering that, currently, I have a 10" JL subwoofer with sealed enclosure inside the rear back cushion, in the rear seat....
