Brake Bleeding

I just need some basics on how to do this.

Is there a certain protocol?
I have a remote mounted reservoir, does this make a difference?

Thanks,
Keith

Its really important to follow Jaguars procedure.I had mine done by a mechanic who,in his words, has been "bleeding brakes for 30 yrs".I still had spongy pedal. 3 tries later I said **** it and did it myself with a helper per the manual. It took 21 pumps on one side and another 16 pumps on the other to get all the air out but now my pedal is firm and my 4500lb XJ-S will stop from 30mph in 2 car lengths.
