Brake light help

Don't have my manual yet but need to fix the brake lights. What do I need to check and where do I check it? Also think I have a tail light out.

Check the bulbs and the ground connection behind all the covers in the trunk lid. I would also check the relays for the lights.. I had a relay that was corroded under the hood that once cleaned worked great. If you dont have a manual let me know and I will look up the proper relay. Do you dash lights work?

Figured out why the one tail light wasn't working - was dangling out side the socket it goes in. Opened the boot and looked around and things weren't quite where I expected them according to what I was envisioning on a jag-lovers response I got. I think I'll take some pics of the boot and at least maybe get pointed in the right direction.

UPDATE: Finally got the tools and mind together to check everything out. Checked out the relay in the boot and I believe it's bad. Had continuity on pin 85 with the brake pressed, had voltage on 30 and 86, but did not have voltage on 87 with the brake pressed. This, so I'm told, idicates the relay was bad. None available locally so I ordered online. Even with overnight shipping, won't be here until Tuesday :( Hopefully that is the answer :):icon_playing:

There is a relay under the hood if I am not mistaken that is not used.. I swapped it out for a spare.. I think it was for the fog lights I dont have..

The relay didn't fix it. Went back to the ground idea. There is a disconnected eyelet on the right rear near the lights. It is still connected on the ground end, could it be the stop light ground. If so, where does it connect?

Ended up being a fuse after all. Fresh Spare and voila - I stop legally.
