Cant get into my car

Hi everyone, first time post so please go easy on me.

my 89 v12 convertible has been stored in a metal container for the past few years.

i guess its sweated in there as i cant now open either front doors despite the doors being left unlocked.

any ideas how to get in? Ive tried the usual things, wd40 on the handles, and latch, wire pole trying to work the interior door handles but neither door will budge despite the handles working ok.

boot opens fine but of course theres no direct access into the passenger compartment from there.

to make it worse car was left in park so not easily moveable to trailer to shop.

Any help gratefully accepted!

That's odd. My first instinct would be to say perhaps they aren't actually unlocked. On my convertible, when the doors are locked the exterior latch behaves the same as when they are locked so double check that the interior lock lever is all the way forward.

Only idea I have for you is apply a little heat. Use a hair dryer blowing it into all the door gap crevices and see if you can soften up the seals and whatever is sticking.

Good luck!

Hello Aeroresh

Presuming it is still in the container? Also presuming there is not a lot of room between the side of the container and the door

Pretty normal for doors to "stick" shut due to the rubbers and metal being in contact over time. Can takes some (surprisingly) amount of force to break this seal.

My recommendation (if my presumptions are correct), jack the back tires up and put them on skates and push the car out the container until you can really manually lay into the door

Cheers
