Chrome Bumper Sections and Corrosion

Hi,

Just a quick forum post about this issue that I know we all suffer with at some point on these cars.

A little while ago I removed all the chrome bumper sections, wire brushed them underneath and then fully rust treated them as much as I could.

The front quarter pieces where probably the worst and I managed to get a new driver side piece after many months of searching!

The one on the passenger side is just as bad (rusting from the underside, brackets almost rotted away).

Does anyone know of supply of these? I keep an eye on EBay every few weeks. I can't find any from breakers yards in the UK, although if anyone knows of any good sources please let me know.

Obviously nearly new or new is great (I was just very lucky with the other one I think).

I did contact a chrome specialist in the UK but with the condition mine is in I'm looking at a renovation bill of about £250...

There was a new one from a Jaguar dealer in California, they wanted £245 for it, wish I'd just gone for it now! :)

Thanks everyone...

Thanks for that, yes that's usually where I get most of my parts from now.

It's a bit hit and miss though, most of them are no longer available for the '96/Celebration Car.

I see they do have the front left blade though so I'll bite the bullet and order that one (didn't need that holiday weekend anyway! lol)

I have found a new centre piece for sale, nearly £300 again but if I just get replaced the sections that are suffering that's fine.

The front of the car appears to have suffered the worst, the ones at the back are fine.

Thanks.
