Coolant Type Question

Went to 2 local auto parts stores and they do not have the yellow coolant. They sell three brands of other stuff that claim their formula is for "for all makes & models" and "all metals."

Will this stuff work for my Kitty?

I'm guessing it would be OK but....?...I dunno. What is it, exactly? is there a brand name or something? Can it be mixed with whatever is in the car now?

I've always used regular (green) old fashioned Prestone in all my Jags.

Cheers

As Doug said, and DONT mix coolants, they can/will turn to "gunk", and block things.

If what you find is suitable for an ALL aluminium engine, and you have doubts about what is in your engine, flush it out a few times with clean water, and fill with the new product, bleed it as needed, and enjoy. I use what is readily available in OZ (Tectaloy) that suits, as some obscure brand etc is too hard later in life when a "top up" is needed.

It's Prestone and says, "mix with any coolant..."...I'm not mixing, merely flushing and reinstalling a whole new tankful.

In my opinion....go for it !

Make sure you use a phosphate free type coolant.
