Dash trim

Is the wood trim color on the dash and doors supposed to match the wood trim surrounding the speedometer and tachometer?

The wood grain on the instrument cluster is printed, fake wood. All the other wood in the car is real veneer, so it will vary from piece to piece, car to car.

Thank you! I’m taking it apart to fix a bouncing speedometer needle.

Time-Pilot,

When did the speedo start "bouncing"? Is it a big bounce or small fluttering? It may well be your speedo but also the speedos are very sensitive to the air-gap at the sensor in the rear diff. Although it shouldn't change if it's never been disturbed, the air gap is critical and is shimmed with very thin nylon shims where it mounts to the case. It's fiddly to access but quite feasible to carefully remove it and add or remove shims to adjust. After my diff was rebuilt, I had to remove one shim to stop the speedo fluttering at low speeds.

Good luck

Paul
