electric mirrors 95 XJS 2+2

so, the next little issue, on my newly aquired Jag, is the electric door mirrors. When the switch is operated, i can hear a relay clicking, but the drivers side mirror will only angle down, no matter which position the switch is put, and the passenger side mirror will do nothing, no matter where the switch is moved to.
I have done a little reading, and this sounds like it may be the seat control module. Is this a fair assumption ?
I saw the TSB about the SCM and the door mirrors, but my vin is later than any in the TSB.
I am concerned that if the problem is similar to the TSB, then I will have to change the door mirrors also.
Anyone got any tips on how to troubleshoot this problem, and how to tell if the door mirrors have capacitors in them ?
The doors do not lock when activating the alarm, or from the drivers side lock, if that has any bearing on the situation.
Thanks in advance

i recall seeing a refurb of the door-mirror stalks somewhere. i think it was in the pictures section of the kirby palm book on the jag-lovers forum.

seems like the actual switches often get highly corroded and simply need a cleaning to get them to work. there are 2 switches/contacts for each stalk (one for each direction), might suggest why youre only getting up-down motion in one mirror.

just a thought.

i'll look for the link in a minute.

Thanks for the info, but mine uses a single dash mounted switch, which runs thro the seat contrl module. When you move the switch to angle the mirroe left, it still moves down, so I suspect the module is fried.
I am going to take the switch out today, and check continuity ......

hey magredvet! I have the exact same issue with the mirrors on my 94. I would love to hear any news on yours... thanks!

Was this ever resolved?

This may be helpful if your mirrors won't respond....
