favorite parts sources for older XJSs?
So my 1990 convertible presents a bit of a challenge in the parts department in my area (Maryland). I'm wondering what your favorite sources for parts are and if you'll share them? Thanks!
Remember, I don't do my own work, so buying a donor car sadly isn't an option for me :-(.

Coventry West, Motorcars LTD., Welsh Jaguar, Pauls Jaguar.....all good suppliers. There are others but those came right to the top of my mind.
In some cases seemingly-oddball substitutions can save money and do a better job, so post first and wait for suggestions. For example, one fellow here discovered that door hinge pin bushings from one of those "Help" packages make a great replacement for the throttle linkage bushings.
For another example the Jaguar/Lucas relays can often (not always) be replaced with generic types at a fraction of the price.
Cheers

Sorry, I can't agree to a few of those on several points that I won't go into on here since it's against forum rules. I will always call David Boger at "everydayxj" for the hope he's parting an XJS or the few parts that interconnect between the XJS and Series III XJ6. Captain Jaguars Cathouse has beat several others in $ and good attitude/help. Believe it or not I got my speedo drive through LBC Company for a song over the others and it's hard to beat good ole Rock Auto which stocks a few pieces and gives you "choices" on each part if theres more then one supplier plus their prices are usually unbeatable. Also e-bay and amazon have come through and alot of what I get comes direct from e-bay UK suppliers, with todays global market shipping and time are a non-issue anymore from across the pond. All the above has always beat "coventry" "welsh" "pauls" for the same part that each one may have, that being said those three may have something the others don't but so far I've always been able to find what I've needed for cheaper then them and I'm also comparing "apples" to "apples" not "jaguar" part vs "aftermarket" there isn't a ton of different suppliers making stuff for our cars these days....that's why I do like Rock Auto as they'll publish multiple parts/prices where theres more then one option. I got a Denso compressor for the mrs X300 the other day for $202.....no one could even come close the that for the same part/manufacture.

I'll echo JTsmk's success with Amazon and eBay. I've actually gotten quite a few parts for my 86 already from Amazon, and since I'm in the US and have Prime, I get free 2-day shipping, which makes their prices very competitive. eBay can be hit or miss, but if you kinda watch a little bit and buy from reputable sellers, you shouldn't have a problem.
I haven't ordered anything from them yet, but have talked with Paul's Jaguar (mainly regarding headliner, seat leathers, and carpets), but they seem to be a good shop and will definitely be going to them when it comes time for those bits, and have been pretty seriously considering getting their "parts catalog" (which I think is just the Jag parts catalog, not their own) just for a better reference for things.

David Boger is aces in my book
I, too, have had good luck with Rock Auto and some other on-line vendors. However, I've also had some problems with innacurate cataloging/listings....so some caution is required before clicking "add to shopping cart".
No matter where you shop beware of "brand x" replacements that come in an unmarked box from god-knows-where. Even some of the Jag specialists sell good-better-best parts so you have to ask before saying "yes". When a vendor (storefront of on-line) is selling 4 no-name ball joints for $60 but the lowest price you can find a known high quality brand (Lemforder, let's say) is $40 each, it makes you wonder what you're buying.
(Perhaps good-better-best is nowadays more accurately described as "marginally junky-decent-good")
One advantage to Coventy West et al is being able to actually *speak* with someone who knows about Jags. And, for some of us old-school types, establishing an actual relationship with real people at a place of business is a good thing that often pays dividends in the long run.
Cheers

Paul's is good....especially for trim items. That seems to be their speciality. Depending on who answers the phone, though, the experience can be.....interesting.
Also, Paul's in known for having all sorts of oddball knick knacks (underhood decals, for example) that nobody has or wants to be bothered with.
I've been very pleased with the interior trim items Paul's have provided.
Cheers

I get lots of used parts such as trim pieces from Jaguar Heaven in Stockton, CA. There basicly a boneyard of totaled Jaguars and Land Rovers.
Jaguar parts from the original Jaguar Heaven! Jaguar parts for classic to current models
