Hey guys,

I have been slowing on my car lately, as time and money are a little tight but that is no real excuse

What is an excuse is, that I can't get the transmission assembled properly. Issue: I can't get the first drum to align properly. Resulting in the oil pump no sitting properly. Forcing it won't be my option.

Has anyone got any tips what I can do? It looks like all the clutches are lining up BUT I seem to shift them a fraction when I drop the drum in... Getting very annoyed with this.

Do you have the gearbox on it's tail?
I always line the frictions/steels with the trans vertical so gravity does not come into play.
I even drop the torque converter in with it vertical.

 

Yep. Standing on it's tail... Best way to do it
