Default Fuel Trim Reset Question

Cleaning my EGR valve, the throttle body, fresh thermostat (the other was stuck open), and some other tweaks has my XJS 4.0 running better than ever. However, she now drinks more fuel than ever very quickly. I understand that the 1995 MY had the first adaptive fuel feature added to the ECU. This version did not have +/- 25% limits newer cars now have, therefore can get out of whack with mixture changes resulting from the corrective action I have taken.
Other than the hard to find PDU, can default trim settings be achieved by means of the disconnect battery method?
