What year car??

If '88 and up looks like wiring harness connection to the windshield wiper fluid heater sensor

Don't take this to the bank, but......

Diagnostic socket for the Marelli ignition.

Load dump module for alternator.

Hi 67 Camaro

If your Car is an 89 then you have got a Marelli

And I would also go along with Doug about this being the Diagnostic Socket, as was mentioned to me some years ago when I got Water in this while committing the Cardinal Sin of trying to Wash the Engine, which is something 'YOU MUST NEVER DO'

Or it could take Weeks to dry her out and Start her again if you're lucky! 'Ask me how I know, or rather don't'

I think I'm clearly wrong about the load dump module, part DAC4729, which looks like this:

I'm now wondering if that black box is some sort of motion sensor for an alarm system

Cheers

I thought it might be some sort of circuit breaker, because it looks like it has a push button on it. A picture showing exactly where it is located might help. I couldn't figure it out.

Pretty sure the round black connector is the diagnostics port.
