Insurance question

Hi,
I have a question that I bet will get many responses.

I have a house that has home owners insurance which includes fire and theft.

My car is currently off the road for the winter and is stored in my garage with no auto insurance.

My question is whether or not my home owner's insurance covers fire/theft to my Jaguar?

I will ask my insurance agent but wanted to hear your opinions as well.

Thanks,
Jomo

I think the answer is probably not!

Unless your Car is Specifically included in your Policy.

Just wondering if 'Pet Insurance' would be enough to Cover my V12 Cat.

No!

It is not covered in the definition f covered property. And, it may well be included in the definition of excluded property.

Might get out your policy and read it. Decades ago, they were rewritten in "plainer' English.

However, a knowledgeable agent can counsel you on the protection needed at the best price. Caveat, not all agents fit that definition!!

It would not be covered, with the cost of collectors insurance being minimal why not just have comprehensive on it?

May vary from state to state but the way it was explained to me years ago was my homeowners will only cover car damage on someone else's car never your own. No comp no coverage. Has to be negligence on homeowner also

A few insurance agencies which I spoke with would not offer me comprehensive insurance without liability insurance.

I heavily doubt that anyone would steal my car anyways when it has no tires on them, a locked garage, locked car doors and a fuel cut off.

Not impossible to steal but improbable. Fire is also a slim chance. In fact any insurance is a bad deal for the policy holder since if it was a good deal for the policy holder then insurance companies would be losing money instead of making money.

Could you not add it, as in declared value property? Much like you might add a valuable piece of jewlery? I have a couple of friends that tell me my Jags are just driveway jewlery anyway, lol.
