Interior

Hi, my 1995 Jag XJS is the car I always wanted, I really didn't expect to keep it this long. I just can't give it up. My question is what are the options for seat renovation. The leather skins are outrageously expensive and the labor is extensive as well. Has any one tried to replace the whole seat? There are some beautiful buckets from wrecked Jags on ebay. They are however from s-types and X types. Has anyone ever tried this. I really could care less about resale value. I want it to look good and feel good. I'll never sell this thing!! Thanks John

take it to a custom interior shop.. recovering leather seats should not be that much... $200-$300 a seat?

thanks for the reply, in NY 800 per seat!

I am very unhappy with the interior of my 95 4.0 XJS as well.

I have invested into strip/repaint the exterior, all sorts of mechanical parts, but my interior sucks.

I have made it presentable with Leatherique, but still not happy...when doing the leatherique re-dye, I found that my front seats have 2 leather panels each and the rest is synthetic crap. The rear seats are much better and mostly leather, but the rear seats can only be enjoyed by Airdale Terriers....

Anyway, I am either going to buy new seat covers for the front seats, which are going between 700.00-2500.00 for the pair, plus 200.00 for the trim shop to install, OR if I can find a salvaged 95 or 96 V12 with good seats I will get those since the V12's came with real leather all over...

Look on ebay for XJS seat covers. Pair of leather seats for the front start at around 700.00. I contacted them and they claim that all the surfaces you touch and sit on are real leather
