Are you afraid that you have "Christine" haunting your garage?

Grant, that is pretty sweet. I think the mesh treatment would look good on a black XJS. Where did you find the complete set (upper and lower)?

Where did I find, HAHAHAHAHA, I am an Aussie, we find NOTHING. Borrow something permenantly from time to time, NO NOT REALLY, but there was no such thing as mesh for the early XJ-S, and add to that I am related to Scrooge.

I looked up "woven wire" suppliers in the local Yellow Pages, damn, 4 streets away. Actually walked there (one leg and all), and spoke with a guy equally as posessed with Jaguar as me, and selected an offcut of suitable gauge, and back home to "The Shed" and merrily made what I wanted. The old grille was cracked and split and at $600 (in 1998), NO WAY.

The lower just made sense, coz that single bar really is a second thought.

Now I get zero Locust in the radiators etc when in the bush.

A lot of "outside the box" thinking went into it, along with Jack of the Daniels family. It was COLD that night. Took about 4 hours.

The headlight surrounds I found at the dealer in primed finish?????, so at $10 each too good to refuse, and since my chrome was toast, anything was going to look better.

I have since done the X300, BUT, it is NOT an "R" so the factory plastic vertical panels went back "over" the mesh inserts I made. It was purely for bugs I did it in the first place, and the lower is a work in progress, and is not as simple as I first thought. More inner lubrication will be required me thinks.
