Odd Looking AJ16 Camcover
I noticed this while checking out an ad on ebay for a 1995 Jaguar XJS.

That looks like the cam cover of the AJ16 that was in our 1995 VDP Sedan.
|
Odd Looking combination too. AJ 16 engine with old teves brakes.
|
Standard later AJ16 valve cover made of magnesium. The older square one was replaced by that. It is retrofitable...

The older square one would be AJ6 with exposed plug /coil wires, no? https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...0c3606a794.jpg ..and newer AJ16 with trim cap on top and rounder main cover: https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...eb83caf656.jpg |
Hmmm I’ve never seen that either. Only seen black with ribs (AJ6) and silver without ribs (AJ16) |

I thought there were only two 4.0 engines:

Protoype? |
Interesting cover. Would be great to know the background.
The VIN is too late to be a prototype AJ16 car. The 2 pre-prod AJ16 cars that I know both have the smooth cover. Paul |
