Default OEM radio memory is losing station presets - 2A fuse location

At the risk of being Captain Obvious,
(Just in case you wanted to be SURE before you took it ALL apart), but this can be VERY annoying!
1 - I like to remove the ashtrays 1st, to avoid prying up and destroying the clips that hold the cig. lighter and cruise switches down
2 - loosen slightly but don't lose two 5/16" nuts with a wrench that are securing the two metal tabs that secure the Ski Slope to the armrest.
They are located underneath, outside of but near the cig. lighter and the cruise control
3 - lift up the ski slope, or just twist it to one side or the other
4 - NOW press on the tabs to release the cig. lighter and Cruise Control switches from the Ski Slope, and you will probably want to remove the wiring from the switches
You may also want to remove the power window (and Conv. top) switches from the ski slope as well, removing the wiring harness connectors by releasing the catches 1st
BE CAREFUL not to pull the switches apart, which will happen if you don't release the catches! NOT FUN to re-assemble!
5 - look under the radio for a long red wire with a fuse holder in-line and replace the fuse: AGC 2A fast blow or equiv.
You may have to pull some extra wire down from behind the radio, to get to the fuse holder. Test it in case there is an internal short in the radio blowing the fuse!
DON"T EVEN TRY removing the radio to get to the fuse. the red wire and fuse holder are held in place by several clips and wire ties under the ski slope. At least it was in my car.

Funny I just went through this yesterday and today. I blew the same fuse installing an aftermarket unit. I was VERY lucky in that I could just access this 2A inline fuse by removing the RH console forward side panel with the footwell vent. Checkout my post in the "What did you do or buy today thread" . for my custom mounting tabs.
