Proud new owner of a 1994 XJ12

Hello all, just wanted to say hello and introduce myself to the group. Scott from Snohomish WA. Not my first Jaguar, used to own an older 88 XJ6 but am now the proud owner of a 1994 XJ12 which I purchased yesterday.

Really excited about owning a Jaguar again as I have loved them my whole life, (Even way back as a kid).

I look forward to sharing with everyone.

Welcome Scott. Jamie here from Vancouver Island BC. I just bought a beater 89 convertible for $500 and am buying a 86 coupe with a chevy v8 this weekend. I will put coupe parts in convertible. Im a new Jag owner and use these forums for info. I think you will find the forum helpful as the knowledge these members have is second to none. They are all will to help if you ask.
Put the year on model in your signature so others know what car you have. Also look at the DIY section and download Kirby's book.

Hey congrats on the V12 Jag. Let me know if you have any questions or ever need any parts as I am parting a 94 xj12 out. I purchased it for the 6.0 engine. I have lots of random parts for the car sitting in my bonus room/attic/garage taking up space that I can sell for super cheap as I want to get rid of them. PM me if you are ever interested.

Thanks, BC xj. Still trying to figure the forum things out:) pretty handy with a wrench and a grease rag but these computers sure beat me up:) Trying to figure out how to add the car to my signature. I looked everywhere....

That is awesome 86jag and thanks for the shout out. So far I have out about 200 miles on XJ12 and she is running pretty good and I think that I know understand her personality. Many questions down the road for sure. Some may find it wrong but I learned how to do it from my old Hummer H1, (Plastic Heater box)... I used about 5 tubes of industrial plastic weld to seal the coolant overflow expansion tank. Holding tight, might last forever or blow up in the middle of no-where.

I have seen posts here about the poor design. Looks like new ones available on eBay for $350ish which is probably the best way to go.. used $80.

Body or interiorwise: I could use:

Left front door speaker
rear passanger side thing that side on back window and rolls up as a shade.
Little clips on floor that hold floor mats
patients to learn the British way
Tail light lens. Mine are not too bad but show age.

I will get some pics pretty soon and post them here. Really love the car. Find self driving it for no reason... just to drive:)

Let's continue the conversation through private messages. I am glad to hear you are enjoying your xj12.

Welcome Scott. 1994 XJ12 4-door saloon. That's an XJ81.

Your '94 XJ12 is one rare and special car. So rare that even Jaguar Forums doesn't have a dedicated section. Part of that reason is that the car is an interesting combination of the XJ40 that you remember, and the very similar V12/4L80E drivetrain as found in the 94-95 XJS V12! Both are well covered here. I'm sure XJ81's numbers have dwindled in recent years. This car needs you!

Stop by the X305 section sometime, where that last-generation Jaguar V12 engine also lives on, for a lucky few of us!

The more you drive her, the more your understanding of the British Way will develop!
