Question about transmission rear mount

I've been trying to do some preventive maintenance on my car and want to inspect and probably refurbish the mount at the rear of the transmission.

I've read threads here and also the information in Kirby's book but everything that I've seen so far is aimed at the V12. When I looked at the parts diagram for the 4.0L the mount is quite different and in fact it seems even more complicated!! There are two springs in the mount and I was just wondering if the procedure is the similar to the V12 or are there any special pitfalls I should be worried about?

Here is a link to the mount assembly. Gearbox Mounting-4.0 Litre-Manual - Parts For XJS from (V)179737 to (V)226645 | Jaguar Classic Parts UK

Many thanks,

Allan

1984 XJS transmission mount rebuild

The original bushing had disintegrated. A new bushing was ordered and fitted without removing the spring loaded steel mount. Remove the nut and fender washer that supports the bushing, lubricate the new bushing, and carefully force the new bushing into place. Replace fender washer and nut.

New bushing and other fine quality & affordable parts are available from:
