Repair advise on thermo housing pipe
 

Hello all, was changing out the rest of my coolant lines as i was tired of being on the "installment plan" of one at a time. Anyway i was taking off an original small hose that went from small line atop radiator to small (tiny) tube that goes into what i believe to be thermostat housing. The little bugger of a hose was hard as a rock and almost seemed glued onto the tiny tube it attached to. When it did come off the little tube pulled out of the thermo housing with it. The tiny tube seemed like a pressed fit affair. Any ideas on repair? I was thinking something like JB weld? Thanks!

I can't quite picture the exact tube you're referring tube....but I get the idea.

JB Weld will be fine. I've used it successfully many times over the years when pressed-in tubes come out.

Agree with Doug.

I know exactly the tube you mention. JD Weld is sweet here, and only TAP that pipe VERY LIGHTLY into thr alloy base. No need for silly force here.

I do any V12 I come across as a matter of routine, as they can/will blow out when the system pressurises.

Thanks heaps for your advice. It put my mind at ease knowing JB was the way to go. Especially after realizing what a pain taking that housing out would have been.
