Default Spot Light Cover Removal Yes or No?

Should I take the Spotlight Covers off my XJS, on the rare occaisions when I park Her anywhere.

Without going into details, I think we know just how much they are worth!
so what do you Guys think...

Can you buy 'el cheapo' aftermarket ones to put on instead?

I took mine off. Although like rocking horse poo, the spot lights are more available than the covers. Anyway, looks better too...

I never saw the point of them (other than to protect the glass from stones).
What happens if you run into fog on the motorway? Are you going to stop, get out and take the covers off?

It's really sad but I'm also considering removing mine. I always thought the lights (as with the headlights!) were pretty useless so having the covers on never really hindered my potential to use them. But they are so easy to remove and now impossible to find.

Can you believe we've arrived at a situation where worrying about a plastic 50p cover being stolen is more concerning than an expensive foglight getting smashed. Sad days.

Paul

Problem solved by replacing my smashed OE fogs with these Hella 450 Rectangular

The covers are clear so I can use my lights
