Strange Leak

Had my A/C compressor replaced and it is working well now. Just one odd thing, not sure if it is connected but there is a small amount of liquid leaking onto the floor. As you look at the front of the car it as on the right hand side just behind the spoiler. I have inspected it, it is not oil and does not smell, has anybody had this before?

Hi Tommy

I had exactly the same thing and took me for ever to trace the source of the leak.

Which was a 'Water Leak'

The Chief Suspects are the Top Rad Hose (Hose Clip) where Water trickles down the side of the Rad.

Or the 'Banjo Bolt' on the Cross Pipes under the Closing Panel.

Or Maybe one of the Hoses on the Overflow Top Up Tank.

I'm assuming you've got an XJS V12 but please could you put some details in your Signature.

Hi, yes its a 6.0 V12, odd thing is it only started to happen after the compressore was changed, Not sure if that is just a coincidence.

Clear, odorless, tasteless? Now that you have a working compressor, it could just be condensation (i.e. Water).

If it were a coolant leak, it would not be clear, and not odorless.

That's my first thought. I could be wrong.

Agreed. You got your AC working and now there is regular water on the floor? The condensate drain for the evaporator is stopped up.

But condensate (water) goes from evaporator approx underfoot and two ways (L and R side). The place described looks more like a leak from the power steering pump. But that's oil, not water.
