Tri-Bar Headlights
1 Attachment(s)
Time to replace my old mismatched sealed beam headlights, thinking of going with these halogen Tri-Bars from Bill Tracy:
5 3/4 inch tri bar for the XJS AND MANY CARS WITH FOUR HEADLIGHTS Anyone tried these? Good build quality and light output? Straight "plug and play" installation? Thanks, Ian |
Most of those kinds of lights are made for bling.
For my money, the best lights you can get for a four light system are the Cibie's, either the regular lights or, if you can find them, the Z-beams. |

Figured anything was better than the ancient sealed beams, and I thought the TriBars would give a more vintage look to my car.
Can you recommend a specific model Cibie or Hella? I assume they are halogen conversions units, do they require anything special to install? Thanks, Ian |
Tri-bars don't look vintage except except when they are original Lucas units mounted on a vintage car.
Try this website for more info on the Cibie's and lighting in general: Daniel Stern Lighting Consultancy and Supply |

Yeah, but only if you had a 1950s vintage Jag :-) I went with Hella "E Code" lights on my older Jags to replace the sealed beams. They were great. Should be able to Google and find vendors. I think I bought mine from and off-road supplier Cheers DD |
Thanks guys, I'm reading the good info on the Stern site and will him for a recommendation.
