Default King Springs for the XJS

How many people are interested in getting King Springs (very high quality) aftermarket springs, available in standard or lowered heights (30mm), from Australia WITHOUT the enormous shipping fee? I may have found a way...

Please look over the graphic below and let me know if anything looks off. I, and anyone else interested in getting in on this buy from King, would have to order them tonight/tomorrow morning at the latest.

i have them and they are stiffer and handle them but they didnt seem to lower it at all, they might have raised it i think.

That is more likely due to the original springs sagging. You would need to check ride height as per the manual.

Are you sure you ordered the ones that are supposed to lower your car vs. keep it at standard height? What spring numbers did you get? Is your car a V12 or 6-cyl?

I'm really hoping these take it down by the 30mm King advertises...

Springs ordered. Shipping from the US distributor is only $20, springs were $475. BUT, I have to wait 1.5 months for the container ship to make it from Australia to the US distributor on the West Coast and clear customs. To save over $200 on shipping, though, it was well worth it.

Calvin, I'd still love to know which spring numbers you ordered and what engine you have.

I have a v12 and they were said to lower it, the back looks a little lower but the front is high and i might have to take coils out and retaper the end. It might have to do with my manual trans swap

How much further does the front need to come down? And how many miles have you driven it? The last car I lowered with aftermarket coils took a few weeks for the coils to come to a final set. When I first installed them the car came down .5" After a few weeks of driving, it finally settled at 1.5". I've read on some forums where it takes new springs a few hours of driving to settle down—others have said two months.

If you're convinced the springs aren't going to come down as far as is needed, you may want to try to exchange them for one of the two shorter/weaker types used to lower a 6-cylinder XJ6, or else add spacers below the spring pan as Warren mentioned. What I'm told comes from Jaguar is that the car is lowered by 2.5 times the thickness of the spacer (each 1/8" of spacing lowers the car 5/16"), so it would only take a .4" spacer to get the front down 1", or a 1" spacer will lower the car by 2.5", but then you've got slightly less ground clearance beneath the spring pan.

ive driven it maybe 20 miles, and ive removes all the spacers from the front end. ill see when i get everything together, im converned when i did the trans swap it took a lot of weight away, turbo 400 and t5 are very much different in weight and i used an aluminum driveshaft, which was like a quarter of the weight of the orignal one. ill post a picture up in a little bit of my ride height
