Turn up the sound..
This is fantastic (sorry if a repost and I'm not embedding it correctly). Need my third pedal / time to gut the old girl?!?! :icon_wink:
The starter alone makes the hair on your neck stand up, simply awesome.. Music, sweet OEM music.. Time for another anti-lump debate (kidding).. |
Is that R2D2 in the passenger seat?
Awesome racket but I don't think that I could live with it as a daily driver. I like the way that he kept looking to see where the gear stick was. |
Turn up the sound..
That's a great video. Thanks for sharing! Love the sound.

Here's a very aural video of one of my Facebook friends.
The car is The Black Pearl. The driver is Marko Vincenzo, a young guy with a huge personality, and a love for the XJS. He is the organizer of a rally known as Rust 2 Rome, which has been run for the past few years, and has recently returned from his latest motoring venture, Rust 2 Romania. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/70nyn9LH_bQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> That video was just before his last engine gave up the ghost. His new motor now has 6 Webers poking through the bonnet. Attachment 117183 Attachment 117181 Attachment 117182 |
Full blown Ferrari noises there.. That single cam V12 hunk of crap sure sucks! ;-)
Thanks for posting.. Jeff |
I REALLY like The Pearl a lot, and, Marko drives it the way these cars should be driven, rather than the way 99% of XJS owners drive theirs. He races it, he runs it hard in long distance rallies, he modifies it, plasters it with stickers, and drives the holy s#it out of it, instead of pampering it, doting over it, and using it as a parade boat, or, a boulevard cruiser which only gets out on sunny afternoons.
Many more of us should do the same. |
Agreed. I personally like survivor cars that stay completely time locked and massively modded full blown whack job track rigs (and most all in between), as long as they maintain original powerplants / the motor is quite frankly too important to the experience to toss aside. I just love the way it comes alive / and a manual trans totally transforms the car IMO. I realize the T400 was plentiful and cheap at the time, but what a let down, and when combined with the weird ratios trans and diff side, unfortunatley she got some barge like qualities as a result. Every Jaguar should be made available with a third pedal, huge mistake in hindsight / they lost a lot of potential buyers as a result and I'd argue resale would have been two-fold across the range.
It's fun to watch miss piggy dance too.. |
A racing car with a Leaper. Works for me!
