Using Ultra Copper RTV with EGR Gaskets a Good Idea?
I have taken off my EGR bracket, which happens to be unidentified on JDHT, however I can confirm that it is the same part from the x300, NBC4769AB. I am ready to reassemble with a new gasket EBC10827, however the other gasket, NBC4772AA is no longer available.
I plan on using Ultra Copper RTV and reusing the old gasket. Good idea?
While I'm at it, I thought...why don't I smear some Ultra Copper on all three gaskets, the two on the bracket and the one on the EGR Valve.
Good idea?
Is there a reason to suspect it won't hold?

I think using sealant is probably a good idea, especially if you are re-using your old gasket.
However, I would not use use copper RTV. It is good for 500 degrees. While you shouldn't really see that unless you are at the cats, its just too close for comfort to me. I would use muffler/exhaust sealant instead. Still like $3-4 so I see no sense in using a lower temp.
Permatex exhaust sealant is good to 2000 deg F
