V12 HE cold start system

Hi I am trying to sort out a cold start problem with an HE engine. It is without cold- start injectors. But i can also see on 2 cars that there are different systems, also both without coldstart injectors. This car, an XJS, have a coldstart relay, it is working with a signal from the starter relay white/red wiring. But the white/purple wiring from this relay, with +12V, where is it going, to the ECU and do what ? Any who can supply me with a wiring diagram for this system (can only find earlier or later) Best Soren

I believe that any starting problems with an HE are nothing to do with the cold start injectors, which cab be safely removed and the holes blanked off. The HE does not need enrichment to start, just more air from the AAV or a similar device. Could you post what the actual symptoms are? As it is much more likely to be an ignition or fuel problem.

Soren,

Welcome to teh Forum.

When time permits please do an Intro in teh New member Area.

We need a lot more info on this car.

Year of the beast, kms travelled, how long since used regularly, where in the world are you (different strokes for different markets), etc etc.

Cold start injectors came and went throughout the HE years, and those with cold starts have usually had them removed removed.

The wiring FOR cold starts is in ALL HE cars, and if the system is fitted, the wires are plugged in, if no cold starts, the wires go nowhere.

Greg has touched on it, but without the additional info, we are all guessing.
