i wonder what a nice prepared Grp44 race heads would do on a good condition 6.0L, pre HE engine?

warrjon a straight round port would be almost impossible with any V12 engine , 1st would need 12 individuel TB plates!

i suppose it could be done but cost would be staggering! then comes the tuning, probably cost as much as the engine itself! these self tuner ECUs only get you close.

HEY i like your new Lathe, and mill, next comes a good surfacing machine, so you could build a closed deck block?

then you need a main brg align bore machine, the list is endless!

Continuing on the theme of head design, I can't remember if I've seen a discussion about this design anywhere else: A V12 head w/ a non-wedge Chevy-like-chamber casting (flat head based I presume.)

Anyone know anything about this foundry, these designs, the designer, application (I assume speedboat etc), etc?

nice , but those small adapters are not very straight!

the 1st pic of chambers i believe are from Austrailia , also they are very close to some chambers from Ford 6 inline engine!

Busy making XJR9 noses at the moment, sometimes we have to go where the money is waiting, such is business.

Well my clever lad has been making visible progress, he has fixed the CAD programming so that he can quickly adjust inlet port size whilst maintaining port wall thickness. The saving on port machining and opening will be great with heads being made for a required port size. Looking to see if we can possibly fit in twin plugs given the poor combustion chamber, if indeed you can call the remaining area a chamber!

I would love to see a DOHC design incl. headers I mean, you're at it so why not?

boy-oh-boy , twin plug ecu , has best use a staggered fire , so as to have one plug slightly ahead of the other , following combustion propagation!

man, that would be a learning curve to say the least, sounds like fun tho. just may help shorten the early spark lead the flat chamber requires.

just might bring the old beast J V12 back to reality!

the guy that had the XJ13 body made by some guys in devon,he has an quad cam engine,and is recasting heads,
should find him on the web.

probably expensive for most Jag V12 owners, plus some careful work to be done.

but great idea never the less!

So who makes the Quad heads, on the Orange roadster and the Red E-Type shown in the U-Tube videos earlier in this thread?
If they exist already, why all the discussion/speculation about feasibility...are they available for purchase, or were those one off unobtainium for mere mortals?

Those heads are AJ6 heads modified, and one reversed, then fitted to a V12 block. Valve gears and a great deal of other things have to be made as one-offs. An engine modified like that would come in a about 100,000 UK pounds, if you can find someone to do it. The bore spacing on the AJ6 and the V12 engines is identical - they were machined on the same machines on the same production line - which is why it is possible.

you can buy quad cam heads for the v12 Neville Swales is doing them

Thanks for the answer Greg. I figured they were beyond the range of affordability. This is an interesting discussion; however....It is disappointing to accept the fact that the "Mighty V12" Jaguar only puts out in the neighborhood of 300HP and Torque (for 326 Cu In); when as we all know, in 1957 Chevy had 1HP/CI in the Fuelie 283, and by 1962, the Fuelie 327 had 360HP. It's all in the cylinder head flow, along with the tune. So XJR5006; what is the objective you are trying to obtain with this new cylinder head? BTW; my Sea Ray had a 260HP 350CI stock engine.
NOTE: I purchased a Marinized 383 from Blue Print Engines; it was dynoed at 450 HP, 440 TQ. My boat went from a GPS verified 40 mph to 55 MPH!. That's huge for a heavy 24 ft boat.....I'm Very Happy. (I changed the weak Alpha outdrive to a Bravo; went from a 14 1/2" 17 pitch prop, to a 15" 19 pitch prop and it may even need a 21 pitch as I'm turning 5200 rpm.)
