Vinyl tops were all the rage in the 1970s. It might even have been an option?

I especially like that fake tack rail across the rear of the tan top example. I'm surprised that they didn't put an "opera window" in also.

I would go for plastic grass and have a few Lego dudes play soccer on the roof.

There is a special place in Hell for people who do that. It is right next to those who text while driving and lawyers that advertise on TV.

There was definitely an era of gaudy and glitzy in the USA. Dealers added-on every "luxury feature" they could.

Vinyl tops, faux convertible tops, gold window trim and nameplates, opera lamps and windows, Vogue tires, continental kits, "Brougham" packages....dear lord, it was hideous. If some was good, more was better. Automotive versions of costume jewelry, cheap perfume, and the proverbial New Orleans whorehouse .

Customers thought it was "classy".

Cheers

Takes me back Doug, I haven't thought of "fine Corinthian leather" and the Chrysler Cordoba since 1975!
